This article provides instructions for updating the email associated with a user, either for the same user or for transferring the seat to another person.

Change an email username

Admins are the only role with the permission to do this for other users in their account.

Before you start, confirm that the desired email is real and the user has access to its inbox. Changing the email is only the first step; the user must open their email to validate they have received the confirmation email.

Please Note

Emails cannot be changed in accounts that have SSO enabled.

User administration

Navigate to the Users & Seats or Team page, following the instructions based on your Account View:

Core View
Without Departments With Departments

In the left navigation, expand Account and select Users & Seats.

Project View

In the left navigation, click Team.

Change Email

Once on the User & Seats or Team page, navigate to the user's Profile page:

  1. Locate the user in the list or Search their name or email.
  2. Click the hyperlink of their name to open their Profile.
  3. At the top of the page, click Change Email.
  4. In the New Email text box, enter the valid email of the new user.
  5. Click Change Email to send the confirmation email.
  6. Instruct your user to open their email client, open the email from GoCanvas, and click the button to validate the new email.

Transfer seat to another user

Use this process to transfer a GoCanvas seat to another user if the current person no longer needs their seat. Please note that doing so will associate any existing submissions with whoever is the current owner of the seat.
