Admins can edit any user's information and make the necessary alterations, including updating the email associated with their account that doubles as their username.
Change a User's Account Email
Please keep in mind that in order to change the email associated with a user, it must be a real email that the user has access to. Changing the email is only the first step; the user must open their email to validate they have received the confirmation email.
Navigate to the Users page, following the instructions based on your Account View.
Expand the Account drop down in the left navigation and select Users.
At the top of the left navigation, expand the menu under the username indicating the current Department and switch to the All Department. Then expand the Account drop down in the left navigation and select Users to see all users across Departments.
Please note that the Department menu above Profile in the left navigation also has navigation to a Users page that is dedicated to the users of the current Department.
Click Team in the left navigation.
- Locate the user in the list or Search their name or email to find them quickly.
- Click the hyperlink of their name to open their Profile.
- Near the top of the page, select Change Email.
- Type in the email in the New Email text field and select Change Email to send the confirmation email.
- Instruct your user to open their email client, open the email from GoCanvas, and click the button to validate the new email.
Note
If the goal of changing the email for this user is to use the email again on another account, the email does not have to be real or validated. Some admins use "old_" in front of the email so the real email can be used again elsewhere. Only Admins have the ability to change an email without the validation step.
