This article is dedicated to the Auto-Build option in the Basic Form Builder.
You don’t need to be an expert in mobile forms. Upload a PDF and let GoCanvas do the building for you–no coding required.
Auto-Build a Form
Build a form in GoCanvas with a little help from AI. Upload your existing PDF, drag-and-drop fields, format, and publish!
- Navigate to the Forms page.
- In the upper right corner of the page, expand the Create New dropdown and select Basic Form.
-
Under Auto-Build, click Upload PDF. Select your PDF from the File Manager. It will automatically start processing.
- Auto-Build will create a nearly complete mobile form and digital PDF. Now you can make adjustments to get it ready for publishing, examples include:
- In the center workspace, determine any incorrect or unnecessary fields. Select the field and press Backspace or Delete on your keyboard to remove.
- On the left side of the workspace, drag fields from the Add menu to the center workspace to fill in any missing fields.
-
On the right side of the workspace in the Field settings menu, use the Type dropdown to change any field types that aren’t accurate.
-
Under the Design section of the Field settings, use the Position and Dimension settings to adjust the shape and location of a field. Alternatively, in the center workspace, click and drag a field to the right location and resize with the square control points.
-
From the menus on the right side of the workspace, adjust Field, Typography, or Page settings and add Reference Data, Calculations, and Choices to applicable fields.
-
Before the form is complete, be sure to Save and toggle to the Test in browser functionality at the top of the Builder to experience the mobile form and final PDF output.
-
Testing will reveal any fields that may be out of order or improperly labelled. Toggle back to the PDF and in the left side of the workspace, use the Mobile Outline to reorder and relabel fields.
- Save, Publish, and Assign the form to your users.
