Single vs. Multiple Photo fields in the Advanced Form Builder

This article explains the difference between the Photo field Styles in the Advanced Form Builder, how both Single and Multiple Photo fields appear on Designer PDFs, and their limitations.

Admins and Designers must determine whether a user would benefit from the flexibility of Single Photo fields or the efficiency of Multiple Photo fields.


Photo fields

Photo fields are a Multimedia category field Type that have two Styles depending on your data capturing needs.

Photo field Styles

Single

Multiple

  • Allows up to 10 photos per field
  • Style must be chosen in the Field Settings
  • Photo files can be replaced on mobile after submitting if editing is enabled but not on the web portal
  • Not compatible with Loop Screens or Tables in the PDF Designer
  • Photos are displayed in rows of one, two, or three, adjustable in the Field Settings

Add a Photo field

To add a new Photo field in the Advanced Form Builder:

  1. In the left navigation, click Forms.
  2. On the right side of the page, in line with the form you wish to edit, click the Edit icon.
  3. Add a Photo field using your preferred method and Label the field clearly.
  4. In the left Field Settings panel, click Multiple if you want your users to provide more than one photo.
  5. In the upper-right corner of the Builder, click Save.
  6. Click Test to try out the field without leaving your browser.
  7. At the top of the Builder, click the arrow and Edit PDF.
  8. Design and/or edit your Designer PDF to include the Photo field(s).
  9. In the upper-right corner of the Designer, click Save.
  10. In the upper-left corner of the Designer, click Form.
  11. In the upper-right corner of the Builder, click Publish and Assign to users.
  12. Ask users to Sync their devices so they have the latest Form Version.
