This article provides information about how to add and configure Date fields in the Advanced Form Builder.

Date fields

Admins and Designers can use Date fields to capture consistent dates that support scheduling, work tracking, and time-based reporting.

Add a Date field

To add a new Date field in the Advanced Form Builder:

  1. On the right side of the Forms page, in line with the form you wish to edit, click Edit.
  2. Add a Date field using your preferred method and Label the field clearly.
  3. Configure any necessary Field Settings.
  4. In the upper-right corner of the Builder, click Save, then Test the field, and click Publish and Assign to users.

Configure a Date field

Default, Style, Required, and Read Only settings for the Date field control how dates are formatted and displayed.

Field Settings

Style

Controls how the Date field looks and behaves for users filling out the form. Options include:

  • MM/DD/YYYY (Example: 03/27/2024)
  • DD/MM/YYYY (Example: 27/03/2024)
  • YYYY/MM/DD (Example: 2024/27/03)
Default

The value that automatically appears when a user starts a new submission. Options include:

  • Current Date: Fills the field with today's date when a user starts a new submission. Users may select and change this to a different date.
  • No Default (Blank): Leaves the field empty and allows the user to select a date.

Note

The Style setting only affects individual Date fields in a form; to change account-wide date settings, see Change the Account Date Format.

Required

Makes the Date field mandatory. Users must enter a value before moving to the next screen or submitting the form.

Read Only

Displays a date value on the form but does not allow users to change it.
