This article provides information about how admins can partially fill a List, Loop Screen, or Table within a Dispatch in the GoCanvas portal.
Pre-populating a repeating screen type (i.e. Lists, Loops Screens, and Tables) when creating a Dispatch not only saves time for workers in the field, it ensures they have all key details instantly available.
Pre-fill a Repeating Screen
Dispatch allows you to pre-populate GoCanvas forms and then assign them to users in your account. This is a great way to assign jobs to your mobile workers so they know where to go, who to talk to when they get there, and what needs to be done. Pre-populating a repeating screen type in a Dispatch is very similar to the mobile interface for ease of data entry.
Navigate to Work Hub, expand the Create Dispatch drop down and select Create New.
Navigate to the Projects page, expand New Dispatch, and select Create New.
Once you have reached the Create Dispatch page, the process is the same regardless of view.
Please Note
Lists, Loop Screens, and Tables are only available in the Advanced Form Builder.
Press the + Add Item button to bring up a pop-up that will allow you to add values to single field in the List.
Enter a value to the field in the pop-up. Click Save to add the row.
Click directly on a row to edit any values as needed or click the red trash can at the end of each row to delete a line item.
Press the + Add Item button to bring up a pop-up that will allow you to add values to the row.
Enter field values in the pop-up. Some field types are not available to pre-fill and will be notated as such. Once finished, click Save to add the row.
If the Loop has a Nested Loop, or more complicated structure, there are more limitations to what can be pre-filled in a Dispatch. Only the Key Fields will be available to pre-fill and none of the fields associated with the internal Loop will be visible when creating a Dispatch.
Press the + Add Item button to bring up a pop-up that will allow you to add values to the row.
Enter field values in the pop-up. Some field types are not available to pre-fill and will be notated as such. Once finished, click Save to add the row.
If the table is Pre-populated with Reference Data, you can also click directly on a row to bring up the pop-up to edit existing values or fill empty cells. Remember to Save to confirm any changes.
