This article explains the step-by-step process to add a Static Image to a form and how it appears on mobile.
Static Images are a great way to relay visual information when text alone doesn't suffice.
Static Image Field
Blueprints, floor plans, diagrams, keys and legends are just a few examples of things you might want to incorporate into your form using the Static Image field.
Adding a Reference Image to the Account
Just like with Reference Data, Reference Images cannot be added from within the Advanced Form Builder. So first, the image must be uploaded from the Reference Images page.
Navigate to the Reference Images page, following the instructions based on your Account View.
In the left navigation, expand the Data Sources dropdown and select Reference Images.
In the left navigation, expand the Settings dropdown and select Reference Images.
- In the upper right corner of the page, click Add Image.
- Enter the name of the image.
- Click Choose file and select the image from your computer.
- Upload.
Adding a Static Image to the Form
- Add a Static Image field using your preferred method. A yellow triangle warning will appear to notify you to Add Reference Image.
-
In the Field Settings panel on the left side, expand the Reference Image dropdown and select the image from the list.
- Update the Field Label with a short description of what the image represents if you haven't done so already.
-
Save and Publish to see it in action.
GoCanvas Tip
Since Static Images are meant to be purely references while completing a form, they cannot be added to the PDF. If you want the image to be in the PDF, add the image as an Image Element in the PDF Designer.
Static Images on Mobile
On mobile, users can open full-size images, zoom in, and pan around to get a more detailed look.
Please Note
As a default, accounts are limited to 10 Reference Images but you may Submit a Ticket to our Support team to request an increase.
