This article provides details for what each Workflow Advanced Notification setting are, compared to the Workflow notifications that are available out-of-the-box.
Workflow Advanced Notifications give you additional options for who is notified during the workflow process and how notifications are sent.

Mid-Workflow Notifications
Mid-workflow notifications happen either when a submission is handed off to another user or when that user receives the handoff.
The standard mid-workflow notifications only asks the type of notification that gets sent.
With advanced notifications, you get a much more robust set of options and you'll be able to make these choices for every handoff, giving you a highly-customized notification experience throughout the entire submission.
What triggers an email/push notification
This setting allows you to determine at which point the notification is activated.
- Submitting
When the user completes their portion of the submission and has submitted it.
- Receiving
When the handoff is received by the next user in the workflow.
- Both
Two notifications are sent, one for each of the two events.
What gets sent
This setting allows you to determine what kind of notification is sent.
- Push Notification
Pop-up on mobile.
Notification via email.
- Both
Two notifications are sent, an email and a push notification.
Who gets an email/push notification
This setting allows you to determine which user involved in the handoff will get the notification. Any or all of these options can be chosen at each point in the workflow.
- Recipient
The user receiving the handoff.
- Submitter
The user initiating the current handoff.
- First Submitter
The user who first created the submission. Only available in cases of more than one handoff.
Submission Complete Notifications
Settings for when the final user is ready to complete the submission. These settings allow you to determine what type of notification is sent and who receives the notification once the user has synced their device.
- First Submitter
The user who first created the submission.
- Last Submitter
The user who completed the submission after the very last handoff.
- All Submitters
Every user who participated in the completion of the submission.
