This article explains how to update GoCanvas app permissions at any time.
Updating Permissions on iOS
GoCanvas requires you to allow certain permissions for the app to work, like storage, when you download the app. Certain permissions can either be allowed or withdrawn at a later date.
Settings app
To update permissions:
- Launch the Settings app.
- In the Search bar, enter "GoCanvas."
- In the search results, tap GoCanvas.
- Tap any item to adjust its settings.
- Exit the Settings app.
Permissions
Location
Allows GoCanvas to access your phone’s geographic position using signals like GPS, Wi-Fi, cell towers, and device sensors. GoCanvas requires this permission to use GPS fields.
Your options are Never, Ask Next Time or When I Share, or When Using the App.
Precise Location will capture your specific location when it's turned on. The app can only determine your approximate location when it's turned off.
Contacts
Allows GoCanvas to access the information stored in the Contacts app.
Your options are None, Limited Access, and Full Access.
Photos
Allows GoCanvas to save images to your gallery that were taken while using GoCanvas.
Your options are None and Add Photos Only.
Microphone
Allows GoCanvas to to record audio or capture sound through your device's microphone. GoCanvas requires this permission to use the talk-to-text feature.
This can either be turned on or off.
Camera
Allows GoCanvas to take pictures and record videos using your device's camera hardware. GoCanvas requires this permission to use Photo and Video fields.
This can either be turned on or off.
Face ID
Will use Face ID to log you into the GoCanvas app automatically if the Password field is already filled.
This can either be turned on or off.
Apple Intelligence & Siri
Several individual settings associated with Apple Intelligence and Siri:
Learn from this App: Allow Siri to learn from how you use GoCanvas to make suggestions across apps. This can either be turned on or off.
Suggestions: Allow suggestions and content from GoCanvas and Shortcuts for the app to appear in Search and in widgets. These suggestions and Shortcuts are based on how you use the app. The following settings can either be turned on or off:
- Show on Home Screen
- Suggest App
- Suggestion Notifications
Search
Two individual settings for allowing the GoCanvas app and its content to appear in Search. The following settings can either be turned on or off:
- Show App in Search
- Show Content in Search
Notifications
Multiple individual controls for notifying you about the GoCanvas app. You can turn off Allow Notifications or determine individual preferences for how they will be delivered (Alert types, Banner Style, Sounds, etc.).
Cellular Data
Allows GoCanvas to access the internet using your mobile carrier's data network (such as 5G, LTE, or 4G) when you are not connected to Wi-Fi.
This can either be turned on or off.
Paste from Other Apps
Allows you to copy content from another app and paste it in GoCanvas.
Your options are Ask, Deny, or Allow.
Language
The default language GoCanvas uses for the login screen, buttons, and settings is English. You can select a different language from the list of supported languages:

GoCanvas app
In the app, you can see which Privacy Settings are allowed, not allowed, or are limited in some way with the following icons:
- Green checkmarked items are allowed and will not open the Settings app.
- Blue question marked indicate the permission is limited in some way and will open the Settings app.
- Red X items are not allowed and will open in the Settings app.
To access Privacy Settings in app:
- Launch the GoCanvas app.
- Login to your account.
- In the bottom-right corner of the screen, tap Profile.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Privacy Settings.
- If any of the following have a blue question mark or red X, tap it to open the Settings app:
- Location Services
- Contacts
- Photos
- Microphone
- Camera
- Location Services - Accuracy
