This article explains how to update GoCanvas app permissions at any time.
Updating permissions on Android
GoCanvas requires you to allow certain permissions for the app to work, like storage, when you download the app. Certain permissions can either be allowed or withdrawn at a later date.
Settings app
To update permissions:
- Launch the Settings app.
- In the Search bar, enter "GoCanvas."
- In the search results, tap GoCanvas.
- Tap Permissions.
- Each item is separated by the existing status, either Allowed or Not Allowed. Tap any item to adjust it's settings.
- Exit the Settings app.
Permissions
Nearby devices
Lets apps discover, connect to, and communicate with nearby Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or Ultra-Wideband devices without needing your full GPS location.
Your options are Allow and Don't allow.
To protect your data, if the app is unused for a few months, this permission will be removed.
Notifications
Multiple individual controls for notifying you about the GoCanvas app. Turn the notification off or tap the item to drill down into more specific settings (Sound, Vibration, Show notification dot, etc.).
Notifications include:
- All GoCanvas notifications
- GoCanvas Reminders
- Transactions That May Require Action
- Important App and Hardware Updates
- Messages About Your Customers
- Processing App Data in the Background
- GoCanvas
- Miscellaneous
- Allow notification dot
Camera
Allows GoCanvas to take pictures and record videos using your device's camera hardware. GoCanvas requires this permission to use Photo and Video fields.
Your options are Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, and Don't allow.
Contacts
Allows GoCanvas to access the information stored in the Contacts app.
Your options are Allow and Don't allow.
Location
Allows GoCanvas to access your phone’s geographic position using signals like GPS, Wi-Fi, cell towers, and device sensors. GoCanvas requires this permission to use GPS fields.
Your options are Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, and Don't allow.
Microphone
Allows GoCanvas to to record audio or capture sound through your device's microphone. GoCanvas requires this permission to use the talk-to-text feature.
Your options are Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, and Don't allow.
Phone
A broad privacy category that allows an app to access your device's calling capabilities, phone state, and network details. Not allowing this permission shouldn't have any impact on functionality in GoCanvas.
Your options are Allow and Don't allow.
Photos and videos
Allows GoCanvas to save images and videos captures in a submission to your device's gallery. GoCanvas does not require this permission to use Photo or Video fields.
Your options are Allow and Don't allow.
Pause app activity if unused
Remove permissions, delete temporary files, and stop notifications.
