GoCanvas Supported Languages

Have more questions? Submit a request

To better support non-English speaking customers, GoCanvas now supports multiple languages in the GoCanvas Android and iOS apps. These languages include:

Czech (CZ) Dutch (NL) English (UK) English (US) Finnish (FI)
French (FR) German (DE) Hungarian (HU) Lithuanian (LT) Polish (PL)
Portuguese (PT) Slovak (SK) Spanish (ES) Turkish (TR)

Please Note: Buttons, settings, and other text built into the mobile app will automatically translate to your device’s language if supported. There may be error messages from the GoCanvas server, such as “incorrect password,” that will appear in English.

FAQs

Can I manually change the language in the GoCanvas mobile app?
By default, we use your device’s system language. To use a different language in GoCanvas, go into the GoCanvas Settings and click “Language”.

What elements of the GoCanvas mobile app will be translated?
The mobile app’s login screen, buttons, and settings will be translated. Dispatched tasks and their mobile forms will NOT be translated.

Diacritic marks outside of the English language are not authorized in Reference Data. Using special characters in Forms or Reference Data could cause functionality issues.

Potential Issues:

  • Data inconsistencies
  • Failing Integrations
  • Reference Data errors
  • Sync failures
  • Form issues

Other Languages

It is still possible to use another language, as long as you use simple alpha-numeric characters (English letters, numbers, and punctuation). While we understand that not being able to use diacritic marks is inconvenient, using the recommended characters can achieve a similar result.

Reference Data

Reference data is unable to support any diacritic marks or special characters. A CSV file is unformatted, which means that symbols and marks can cause issues with the data or within GoCanvas. Reference data can only be alphanumeric characters.

PDF and Form Builders

The Designer PDF is the only place that can support a language other than English. While the fields need to come from the form and those are only alphanumeric, you can use Static Text elements to place text in another language within the PDF. Special symbols and diacritic marks can be used within the Static Text elements. However, they can't be used within Static Text fields within the Form Builder.

Key Takeaways

  • Diacritic marks and symbols are not officially supported.
  • Fields in the Form Builder can only use alpha-numeric characters.
  • Static Text Elements in the PDF Builder can support special characters and diacritic marks.
