Need to add an option to assign to a group or department which then lands in that group/department que/list... make the que/list have subcategories for those people who are in the group/department so they can see "all tasks" and a subcategory or their groups/department tasks

Thank you for this detailed feedback (as well as your other recent post on the new Assignments feature)!
There is currently no functionality in the Assignments feature to reassign tasks to a group, but I can see where a detailed queue specific to groups/departments would be helpful in organizing and directing tasks.
I have shared your feedback directly with our Product managers for their consideration. We encourage other users to comment and upvote on this post, as our Internal teams are currently gathering and discussing feedback on the new Assignments feature.
