Im absolutely perplexed with a simple problem in my mind that I don't understand the answer I got from your support.
I own an iPhone X and ive recently gotten ipads for all my mechanics to go paperless in the shop. One annoying thing happens (or doesn't happen) is that my when a submission comes into my phone I don't get a sound / vibrate to notify me of a new submission. My colleague who has a android does. This means that currently I have to monitor my phone on high battery usage as I cannot afford for the thing to go to sleep and miss a notification from our mechanics.
The solution??? The solution offered to me is to enable email notifications on my phone so I get the sound and use both for notifications in the app. Ok sounds great but since typing this small papragraph my phone would have chirped/buzzed/vibrated a total of 15 times. I get or am in copy of approx. 3-400 emails a day.
could you imagine being in a meeting and somebodys phone is constantly going off and the excuse is that if you didn't your mechanics would grind to a stop until a submission is sent back to them???
The advice from the support team was for me (the client) to upvote the current feature for this idea to the community as "this is the best way to get ideas to your development team for consideration"....
Personally asking the client to send an email back to the team who send the email as this is the best way to reach them sounds about the worst customer service I've ever heard in my life.
All I want is to be able to hear when I get a submission. I didn't need to send an email to a community board "hoping" that somebody looks at it and think its a "good idea".
The forum should be for "how about a translation page" or how about "I have a problem can anybody fix it"
Extremely baffled by this approach. Solution right now is for me to go and buy an android phone and hope that works because missing work isn't an option currently...…...

Hi Peter,
First, thanks for sharing your use case in such detail - that gives us a good idea as to the impact this is having on your business. I understand it's frustrating to have a disparity between what happens on iOS vs. Android. I'm actually surprised that's the case; last I'd heard, there were no sound notifications on either OS.
I can think of a few workarounds involving some of our integrations, but I sense that would probably not be ideal in this case. That said, if you're interested, you might want to check out Zapier's SMS integration, which could be set up to send you a text message every time a Submission comes in. You might also be able to get a similar experience integrating with our out-of-the-box Google Drive or Box integration, and configure your settings to chime when new files are added in those places.
The reason we ask customers to put in feedback like this is because it allows other users to chime in and add their use cases and votes. If these things happened behind closed doors or on an individual basis, we wouldn't know how many people were asking for the same functionality. When we see patterns or consensus around things that people need, we can make an argument for including those features in our roadmap.
