Testing a Form Before Publishing to All Users

You have the ability to place a form in Testing if you're not ready to deploy it to your mobile users quite yet.

Enabling Testing

Testing Forms is particularly useful for Admins and Designers when testing updates to existing forms before letting all of your users see the changes.

To get started you will first need to enable Testing Forms.

  1. Expand the Account drop down and select Account Settings.
  2. Under Form Settings, you'll see a Testing Forms area with a toggle.
  3. Select the toggle to turn Testing Forms on.Account_Settings_Form Settings_Testing Forms.png

Form Status Requirements

The testing feature can only be enabled on forms that are currently in the Pending status. You can't test a form with the status New until it is published at least once.

To set a form to Pending status, make a change in either of the Form Builders and Save, but do not Publish. Exit the Form Builder to return to the Forms page.

To then Publish for Testing:

  1. Select the name of the form you wish to test or the gear icon associated with the form to open Form Settings.
  2. From the Form Settings page, scroll down to the Actions section, select Publish for Testing.Form Settings_Actions_Publish for Testing.png

Once those steps are complete, you will notice that the status has changed from Pending to Testing. The word (Testing) will be added to the beginning of the form's name. To learn more about form statuses, visit the Help Center article, "What does status mean on the Forms page?"

This Testing version will be published to all Admins and Designers on your account. On the device they will see the testing version as well as any currently published version that may have been assigned to them.

When you have completed submissions on the form you are testing you will see Testing next to these Submissions as well.

Please Note

All testing submissions will be deleted from your account when you publish the form.

Once you have completed testing of the form and are ready to publish to your users, you will be notified that all testing submissions will be deleted from your account. If you accept this, the current testing version will be published and the (Testing) header will no longer appear on the device.
