With the GoCanvas PDF Designer, you can include static text, images, and social links that are not already in your form.

Adding Elements to your PDF

There are many reasons why text or images are not needed when completing the form but are crucial to include in the PDF output. Designing the PDF is about audience: who is this PDF meant for and what data does that audience need from the PDF? PDF Elements are the solution to including content on the PDF that would clutter up the form.

  1. In the PDF Designer, select the middle Elements icon on the left panel.
  2. The five options in the panel are Text, Image, Social, Page Break, and Submission No.PDF Designer_Elements.png
  3. Drag and drop the icon from the Elements tab and drag it into a section or column in the center workspace.

Setting up Elements

When you add a Text element to your design, the gear icon will open up Element Settings in the left panel where you can customize font and other text properties.

Adding an Image element to your design will also open Element Settings in the left panel where an image can be uploaded.

The Social icon allows you to embed links to your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Angie's List, Google Reviews, Home Adviser, and Yelp accounts.

To add a link to your social media account, check the box next to its icon. When checked, a place to add the URL directly to your account will reveal itself directly underneath. You can adjust the alignment and spacing of these icons as well.

Submission No. elements have similar formatting settings as the Text element.

Page Break is the only element that does not have specific settings and simply impacts how the PDF is split up into individual pages.

Note

Elements placed in the header or footer sections of your design will appear on each page of your PDF output.
