How can I tell if my form uses Reference Data?

This article provides instructions for locating the two places that show at a glance whether a form has Reference Data attached or not.

When cleaning up your forms, it is very helpful to quickly ascertain whether a form has Reference Data attached and which file is in use.


Determine which Forms have Reference Data

From the Form Settings Page

If you only need to know the files referenced by a single form, the Form Settings page is the fastest method.

  1. Navigate to the Forms page and click the Settings gear or hyperlink associated with the form.
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and all files that are referenced in the form will be listed.

If there is no Reference Data being used in the form, this section will not appear. 

The Reference Data Report

Alternatively, you may need to ascertain the Reference Data attached to more than one form. You can do this quickly by utilizing the Reference Data Report.

Navigate to the Reports page, following the instructions based on your Account View.

Core View
Without Departments With Departments

Expand the Account drop down in the left navigation and select Reports.

Click your username at the bottom of the left navigation to expand the menu and select Reports.

  1. Click the hyperlink for Reference Data Report, the fourth option in the list.
  2. Once inside, the report will be defaulted to run by Reference Data but you can also choose to view the report by Form.
