Configuring Decimal Places for Numerical Fields in the Builder

Have more questions? Submit a request

Number fields can set how many decimal places that field will accept when users are entering data on their mobile devices.

Allow Decimal Places

The two field types that allow for decimals are Number Fields and Calculation Fields, both standard calculations and Sum calculations. The options include No Limit, No Decimal Places Allowed, and 1-6 decimal places.

Number Fields

  1. Select the Number field to open the Field Settings in the left panel.
  2. Expand the Advanced menu.
  3. Expand the Decimal Places drop down.

  4. Set the Decimal Places drop down to the desired number.

Note

Number Fields set to Currency Style, or calculations and sum calculations that reference those fields, will only allow for two decimal places and the Decimal Places drop down will be greyed out.

Calculation Fields

Calculation Fields will default to the highest number of decimal places allowed by a field being used in the calculation. If you change the decimal places drop down to be lower than the highest number, the field will round down to that number of places.

Calculation Sum Calculation

In addition to the Decimal Places drop down under the Advanced menu, decimal places can also be configured under Standard field settings by expanding the Format drop down. The selection for Decimal Places is only available for the Number format and switching to a Currency or Time format will grey out or remove the Decimal Places drop down from under Advanced.

Note

Changes made in one setting will automatically be reflected in the other. No Decimal Places Allowed in the Decimal Places drop down will equal "1" in the Format drop down, "1" in Decimal Places drop down will equal "1.0" in the Format drop down, etc.
