Yes, GoCanvas offers barcode scanning for Android and iOS devices.
Barcode Scanners
GoCanvas will receive data from any barcode scanner that has a supporting "scan wedge" application that is compatible with a GoCanvas-supported operating system.
Android
The application now natively works with the types of scanners supported by Zebra Crossing, including:
- Aztec,
- Codabar,
- Code 128,
- Code 39,
- Code 93,
- Datamatrix,
- EAN-13,
- EAN-8,
- PDF417,
- QR,
- UPC-A,
- UPC-E,
- ITF,
- RSS-14,
- RSS-Expanded.
There are also several free applications in the Google Play Store that are compatible with GoCanvas, many of which utilize Zebra Crossing software:
When you click to scan a barcode in your GoCanvas form, you will have the option to open the third-party scanner.
iOS (iPad/iPhone)
You can scan the following types of barcodes in the main GoCanvas mobile application without additional setup:
- Aztec,
- Code 128,
- Code 39,

- Datamatrix,
- EAN-13,
- EAN-8,
- ITF,
- ITF-14,

We recommend testing your barcode scanner on the device you want to use in the field in advance, to ensure that the third-party application will accept the barcode type.
