One of the ways to keep your data organized is to name the PDF file based on a field in your form.

Please Note

This functionality is not available on Multimedia field types, GPS, checkbox, link, or payment.

Place Value In

Using a field value from within the submission makes a PDF File Name unique to the submission and easy to recognize.

  1. Navigate to the Forms page and launch the Builder by selecting an existing form to edit or Create New.
  2. Find or add the field whose value will be in the submission name and select the gear icon to open the Field Settings modal.
  3. Toggle to the More menu and scroll to Place value in: and check the box next to PDF File Name.Builder_More Field Settings_Place Value In_PDF File Name.png
  4. Save and Publish to create a new submission.

Note

If multiple fields have the PDF File Name box checked, the PDF name will reflect the order that the fields appear in the form. For example, if the first field is the Customer's Name and the second field is the date, the PDF File Name would be John Smith 1/22/2024 ending with the name of the form.
