What is Show This Field on Web in the Advanced Form Builder?

This article provides instructions for finding the setting Show This Field on Web as well as explanations of each option.

Admins and Designers can determine, on a submission-by-submission basis, whether a field and its value appears when a user views the submission data in the web portal.


Show this Field on Web

Follow these steps for each field that will only show on the Submission Detail page under specific circumstances:

  1. In the left navigation, click Forms.
  2. On the right side of the page, in line with the form you wish to edit, click the Edit icon.
  3. Select the field in the center workspace to open Field Settings in the left panel. 
  4. Expand the Advanced menu. 
  5. Expand the Show This Field on Web dropdown menu.

  6. Select one of the following options from the dropdown menu:
Always
The field Label and its value will always appear on the Submission Detail page, even if it is left blank.
Never
The field Label and its value will never appear on the Submission Detail page.
Only if field is not empty
The field Label and its value will only appear on the Submission Detail page if the user enters a value in the field. It will not show if the user leaves the field blank.
Only if the default value has been changed
The field Label and its value will only appear on the Submission Detail page if the user changes the Default Value.
Only if the default value has been changed & field is not empty
The field Label and its values will only appear on the Submission Detail page if the user changes the Default Value and does not leave the field blank. If will not show if the user leaves the field blank.

Don't forget to Save, Publish, and Assign the form to users.
