GoCanvas Integrations

There are several setup steps required before building your first Recipe. All these steps can be done from the Integrations page in your web portal. Each Project organizes Recipes, Connections, authorized users, and more.

Create a Project

To get started, create your first Project following the steps below:

  1. In the left navigation, click Integrations.
  2. Authorize GoCanvas to use your form data in integrations. This step is only needed the first time.
  3. In the defined Projects area, click Create Project.
  4. In the New project dialogue box, enter a Name.
  5. (Optional) Enter a Description.
  6. Click Create project.

Within your Project, you will now be able to create a Folder, Recipe, or Connection.

Create a Folder

Use Folders to group your Recipes and Connections in their own spaces.

  1. On the Integrations page within the defined Projects area, click Create folder.
  2. In the New Folder dialogue box, enter a Folder name.
  3. Expand Location and select a Project or Folder to place it within.
  4. Click Create folder.

Create a Connection

Next, connect your GoCanvas account to enable data syncing. This will be your first Connection.

  1. On the Integrations page within the defined Projects area, expand Create and select Connection.
  2. On the Create your connection dialogue box, search for GoCanvas and select the icon.
  3. On the Connect to GoCanvas dialogue box, enter a Connection name.
  4. Expand Location and select a Project or Folder.
  5. Enter your Username and Password.
  6. Leave Web Site as "www" unless you purchased GoCanvas from Telstra.
  7. Click Connect.

Project administration

In each Project there are Assets and Settings.

Assets

Under Assets are all the building blocks of the integrations associated with the selected Project, including:

  • Recipes
  • Connections
  • Data tables
  • Decision models
  • Resources

Search assets or filter them by type, App, who it was Edited by, or Tags.

Settings

Under Settings, there are a few general administration actions, including:

  • General where you can edit the Project description
  • Project properties where you can manage and add new Properties:
    • Reusable key-value configuration parameters used to store settings, credentials, or shared data that Recipes and workflow apps can access dynamically.
  • Project access where you can manage and Add collaborators

If a user in your account cannot be found in the search, contact your GoCanvas implementation specialist to let them know which users need Integrations activated.
