Link Same Email to Multiple GoCanvas Accounts, Seperate Username

I have run into the issue where some users within my company already had GoCanvas accounts related to inspections they were performing for one of our customers.  Because of this their email is tied to that account but cannot be used for a GoCanvas account for our company and I have to create a dummy email for them to login, however, this creates issues when resetting passwords, getting submissions emailed to them, etc because that email doesn't exist.  My suggestion would be for GoCanvas to create unique login ids that are not email based for each user, then allow the linking of a single email to multiple login IDs for the instance where one person with a company email is using 2 different GoCanvas accounts for his company and another company as part of his job.

    Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback! I see you also posted this in the 'Account & Users' category in the Community. In an effort to consolidate comments and upvotes, I am going to remove the duplicate post to direct other users who may be interested in this functionality to reply here.

    If your users are no longer going to access their previous accounts for inspections, there is a potential workaround that involves changing the login email on the old account. This will free up their email for use on your GoCanvas account. Click here for more details on this workaround.

    I will also shared this feedback with our Product team for their consideration. If there are other users who would be interested in this functionality, I'm sure our Product managers would love to hear other use case examples and detailed comments!

  • We have people using both accounts because one account is owned by one of our customers that they fill out forms on, then they also used the account owned by our company to fill out forms for us.

    That certainly is an issue that can interrupt workflows. I don't have an update since Chip responded but I will relay continued interest in this request to our product team.

  • Any updates?  Generating a username or having a drop down during login that would allow a user to select which company they want to log in under would be great.  Now running into this issue as we are converting to a dealer network and several of our new dealers have GoCanvas accounts supporting other companies.
