Permanently deleted user
I'm considering generating my own PDF for certain type apps that don't lend themselves well to the PDF designer. I would use the API to pull the submission, and then use Perl and LaTeX to build and e-mail the PDF. For that app, I would like to turn off the PDF generation, because I would not want to have 2 separate representations of the printed contract. That would save GoCanvas the storage costs of the PDF and avoid the problem of having two signed copies of the same contract that have inconsistent formats.

This is a cool idea, and I appreciate the thought about storage costs. I think, as a temporary solution to avoid the two copies problem, what I'd do is have a blank PDF. That's super easy in the PDF Designer - just delete everything and save. But since GoCanvas is always going to generate the standard PDF as well, you'd probably also want to go through the App Builder and set every field to never show up on the PDF (or, at the very least, the signature field so even if it generated a PDF, it wouldn't be a signed contract).
