Feature Request:
There are times when it would be nice to have the app generate a random number, e.g. purchase orders, Then that number can be given to a vendor.
There are workarounds, we currently use a calculated field combining two other fields. The issue is, the way we do this, there is potential for the same number to be calculated.

Like you said, there's a workaround for this (which is documented here: https://help.gocanvas.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360002027193-Generating-a-random-number-in-your-app). I highly recommend making sure that one of the numbers you're using for the calculation is as time field (and that you include seconds in that time capture), as that greatly decreases the chance of having a repeated number.
Again, thanks for putting in this request - I'm interested in seeing how many other folks would benefit from this functionality.
If the numbers are serial, you can use submission number as a work around.You can customize the prefix and suffix accordingly and place them on your designer pdf. Hope this helps
