Dispatch calendar improvement (reoccuring events)

I feel there are some basic but powerful features missing on the dispatch calendar in regards to reoccurring events. For example, we complete inspections on a routine basis. Some inspections are completed weekly, monthly, or even yearly. Same concept for weekly and monthly staff meetings. As it stands, we would have to create a dispatch for every single one of these reoccurring events even though the dispatch parameters are identical. I would love to see a feature set similar to what is available in a product like Google Calendar.

  • I'm amazed this isn't already a feature request, but I couldn't find a duplicate. This is sure to be super popular, thank you for your feedback!

  • I agree, this is a must needed feature for scheduling inspections to the same location weekly or monthly.  It would be nice to simply copy and paste or right click and drag in the calendar view to re-schedule a dispatch.

  • Hello Tatiana,

    Perhaps the "Copy" function in the Dispatch Manager would help! This feature is hidden in a menu that appears when you select the box next to a dispatch row. I've included a screenshot below:

    "Copy" function is good, but it is not helping me much. Dispatch recurring feature would help so I don't have to  manage calendar on a daily bases.

  • Totally fair! I agree that it is more of a stop-gap solution to a true recurring function. I have other clients that utilize Bulk Dispatch to add multiple similar dispatches all at once to save them time. So I recommend trying that out in the meantime but I will be sure to raise this interest with the product team.

  • It has been three years since this calendar scheduling feature has been requested.  I am a visual person.  I look at the dispatch calendar to see scheduling, and what has been completed.  Having the ability to re-schedule a dispatch from the calendar or schedule a reoccurring dispatch like you would re-schedule a calendar reminder would be a game changer in my business.  To right click on a dispatch on a calendar and have a choice to reschedule daily, weekly or on a certain day of the week or every 1, 2, 3 etc days or weeks is the way to go.  Below is the original request from  Matthew Compton-Clark.

  • I understand that it seems like an old request but development takes several years. We are working on several large projects that started around the time that this request was made, most of which were directly requested in the Community. These requests do inform our roadmap but there is no guarantee that requests will be added to our roadmap by a given date or that I will have regular updates on their ETA.

  • Not to sound ungrateful for your product in does serve a vital purpose in the public safety field, but for those of us who champion the software have a difficult time putting the pro's ahead of the con's when sitting in front of a financial auditor when they say "you have to do what... to schedule a reoccurring event".  And then they proceed to show how it's done in the competitions software on their iPhone.  I think the key here is efficiency.  Being able to create, dispatch, audit and reschedule with defined parameters makes for a better product with less accountability mistakes with a proven methodology (method).  The calendar is the key in my opinion for future growth in your product.  Just my two cents.

  • Copy feature is available in list view but not the calender view.

    Further more there is no "Edit" icon in the list view (instead you need to click the hyperlinked text) and of course the edit form is in a pop modal in one place and on a page in another place.

    The UI/UX design for this platform is very very poor. The end user has not being considered.
