Web UI view

Hi,

Currently we have a number of teams (15+ and growing) set up to use GoCanvas with each team completing somewhere between 3-15 job "tickets" each day that are dispatched using Business Insights. We essentially work off a master list of jobs in an Excel workbook for each project with around 10 different apps split up depending on the discipline and skillset required; up to 2000 jobs per project.

What would be ideal is if we could bulk upload all the jobs at the start of the project and then adjust the allocation to the correct teams depending on their workload and priorities. To do this we'd need a spreadsheet type view of all the jobs in the system which would then also allow us to see in real time as the status has been updated. This view could be customised to only show required columns so multiple apps could be displayed. This would then also allow for very easy cross referencing and bulk re-allocations.

  • Hi Chris!

I think we might be able to get to what you're asking using a couple of different tools to provide a work-around.

The first part would be creating a dashboard to view the current status of your teams. That can be done in a couple of different ways, including using our Power BI tool (described a bit here: https://help.gocanvas.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360001848794-Would-LOVE-a-reporting-dashboard-per-app-with-charts-graphs-etc-). Just as Danielle mentioned in that post, you can also do a lot of dashboards using Zapier, so you'd know who's free to work.

The second would be the ability to the assign teams sort of on the fly and be able to see that all in a spreadsheet. That can be done using Zapier as well. Take a look at this setup: https://help.gocanvas.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360007654133-Cloud-Based-Dispatch. Basically, you'd have the job pre-loaded, and it would only Dispatch when you decided who should do it. Because it's coming from a Google Sheet instead of Excel, other people would have visibility.

I would love to sort of prototype the Zapier pieces out for you if either of those sound like viable solutions (or just for fun). I'll give that a shot either tomorrow or over the weekend and see if it'll do all the things you're asking.

In the meantime, a great feature request that I think a lot of people can get behind!
