Allow Adding Multiple Rows To A Loop Screen At Once

Answered

It would save some time if we could add multiple rows to a loop screen all at once.

I'm not sure exactly what the workflow would look like and this is somewhat difficult to describe, but some examples might be:

- Need to add 12 widgets (one per row) to the list.  All of them are identical except for serial number.

------ The user might need to type in the serial number, or the user might need to specify pre-populated serial numbers from reference data.

------ Add Multiple > Widget > Qty: 12 > Which widgets are you talking about?  This one, that one, that one, and this other one (multi select) > add rows

- Need to add 25 people (one per row) to the list.  All of them have the same job title and worked the same number of hours, but have different names.

------ The user might need to type in their names and titles, or choose them from reference data

------ Add Multiple > People > Job Title: Worker > Hours worked: 8 > Which people are you talking about?  This one, that one, this one, that one, the other one (multi-select) > add rows

- Need to add 8 types of paint (one per row) to the list.  All of them are made by the same company and have some similar characteristics, but there is a different amount of each one

------ The user might need to type in or select unique values from reference data

------ Add Multiple > Paint > Manufacturer:  Company X > Drying time: 12 hours > Which paint are you talking about?  Red: 2 gallons , White: 4 gallons, Blue: 1 gallon (multi-select / multi-entry hybrid) > add rows

I hope this makes sense.  This would be a big time saver.

    2024 Update:

The Community is getting cleaned up! If you are stumbling across this post after September of 2024, this is the most recent solution or answer to the request in this post.

This is not planned at this time. This post will be updated if anything changes.

However, a Pre-populated Table may help for some of these examples, but not all, i.e. if the information is not known until the field worker is onsite. To learn more, visit the Help Center article, "Can I create a table in the Builder?" for a table that is defaulted to pre-populate for all submissions or "Pre-populate a Table when Creating a Dispatch" for individual submissions.
