Fields are categorized into Types and/or Styles within the Field Library and they all serve specific purposes.

Fields in the Builder

If Screens are foundational to building forms, then Fields are the blocks with which we build the form. Field Types allow you to quickly capture information in the format that makes the most sense for the information being collected or completing an action during the submission process. For example, Date fields make adding a date easy and Calculation fields can automatically complete simple mathematical functions.

Adding Fields

There are several methods for adding Fields to your form.

Drag & Drop or Click to Add

Use the Fields Library to drag-and-drop a field to a specific part of the screen or click a field type and it will be added as the last field within a screen.

Please Note

If the Screen, Table, or Loop you want to add a field to does not have at least one field, or another field in addition to the Key Field, than the Drag & Drop method will not be available.

+ Between Fields

In the center workspace, slightly to the right between two existing fields, hover your cursor and a + sign will appear. Click Add Field and a space to type a new field will appear below the dotted line. Please note, unless you collapse both the left and right panels, these buttons will be slightly cut off.

Smart Field Recognition

Leverage Smart Fields to add fields fast. On any Screen, Loop Screen, or Table, click + Add Field, start typing a field label, and type enter on your keyboard. All field types can be added by simply typing the field name, among other recognized terms similar to the name of the field, like "picture" or "image" for the Photo field.

Additional Field Actions

If you later decide you don't need a field, hover over the field, and click the trashcan icon to delete the field. Additionally, a copy icon to the right of the trashcan will copy the field exactly as it is configured.

Unique Field Interactions

There are certain Field Types that require additional configuration when added to a form. These fields are indicated by a light orange highlight around the field in the center workspace as well as an orange triangle to the right of the field. Click the field or the orange triangle to open Field Settings in the left panel to configure the required settings.
