Alarm Settings on an App

We're currently using an app for working alone on our jobsite. It helps you set up the pre-requisites required for working alone (eg, a check-in person, risk assessment, etc). On our site we have a 2 hour check in period. It would be amazing if there was some kind of alarm feature embedded in the app - one that would alarm to the check in person so they know when to make their check with the person working alone. If there was a way it logged this check in period, that would be even better.
