Hi there, I am trying to build in the app a way in which i can split reference data depending on what a user has chosen, We supply many different products to different work sectors (Schools/transport etc) but not all sites use the same products. Is there a way in which i can auto populate a grid of products with certain reference data depending on which sector the user selects? At present the user has a multiple choice button so they can select which sector they are working in, in essence i want the products for the sectors they select to auto populate into a grid with quantity requirements etc
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Howdy Spencer,
Welcome to the Community! Unfortunately, there is no direct way to set up pre-populated grids with multiple options in a Key Field. Meaning if you set up reference data with multiple work sectors as the first column (Key Field), then every option will display in a pre-populated grid, as opposed to giving the user an option to pick a work sector in the Key Field.
One potential workaround is using Conditions to display specific Loop screens for each work sector. So the user would pick a work sector from a Drop Down field on an earlier screen, then a conditional Loop screen with a pre-populated grid would appear based on their selection.
I know this workaround is a bit inelegant, as it would require multiple conditional Loop screens with separate reference data options.
I would be curious if other users in the Community have come up with solutions for this sort of use case. I'll also ask some of my colleagues and share any other potential workarounds here.
Hi there, thanks for coming up with a workaround.. in that respect for when I create the PDF version is there a way in which the sector's they have chosen with the prepopulated information can all be collated into one grid? Just so that the pdf does not have every individual prepopulated grid and has one which has combined all the information into one grid?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Howdy Spencer,
That's a good question! I don't know of a direct way to combine multiple pre-populated grids into a single grid within the PDF Designer. There may be a way to achieve this with a Custom PDF as a paid feature through our Professional Services team.
I see that my colleague Scott on our Support team has reached out on this question from your related Support ticket. I would advise connecting with him directly from your existing ticket, as he would be happy to discuss your specific use case on a phone call and explore potential solutions to achieve it, whether through the PDF Designer or with our Professional Services team.
