Howdy Everyone! We know that there is a lot going on in the world. We are still here, working harder than ever to make your job easier through GoCanvas. We’ve just released some major changes to the platform that we think will have a significant impact on the way you collaborate with your team.
Our team has been working on these features for some time, and we are excited to share them with you, especially given that so much of this functionality was directly inspired by what we heard from you.
Huge thanks to those that contributed detailed feedback and use case examples on how we can make your experience using GoCanvas more powerful. Please keep telling us how we’re doing and how you are implementing these new features.
Be sure to download the latest version of GoCanvas for Android and iOS from the App Store or the Google Play Store. Android users can also download the latest version directly from http://www.gocanvas.com/m.
Autosave and Save to Cloud
The Save to Cloud feature allows users to save work on a Submission so it can be continued later on the same device or another device. This function also allows submissions to persist through clearing data in GoCanvas and uninstalling GoCanvas from a device.
In addition to the Save to Cloud feature, submission data is now automatically saved each time a user leaves a screen. This includes navigating between screens in an App, or completing fields that capture data on separate screens, such as Photo, Signature, and GPS.

Submission PDF Preview on Mobile
Users can now preview a PDF on mobile while completing a submission! Just tap the Menu button in the upper right corner on your mobile device, select View PDF, and a preview of the partially completed PDF will display.
It’s worth noting that to preview a submission PDF on mobile, the user must have Save to Cloud enabled on their device and the Mobile View setting must be enabled for the specific app. The View PDF feature also requires a stable connection to function.

Introducing Assignments
The Assignments feature allows users to start a submission, then assign it directly to another user to complete. Users can also make a submission-in-progress available for other users on their account to review or add information. This feature is offered on the Professional plan or above.
There are three core actions related to Assignments:
Reassign: the ability for a user to assign one of their Submissions to someone else to finish it.
Unassign: the ability for a user to remove themselves as the assigned user for a Submission and put it into an unassigned queue so it can be assigned to (or claimed by) someone else.
Claim: the ability for a user to see a list of “available” (those which have been unassigned) Submissions and claim (assign it to themselves) the Submissions.
Each of these actions are available on an App-by-App basis using the Assignment Settings from the App Settings page.
Click the name of each action above to learn more about them, or click here to learn how to enable Assignments from your account homepage.
Please note that these new features are not supported in the Windows Desktop Client.
