Activation of API keys at account level results in Business Insights and Zapier not functioning.
Solution is required that allows API keys to co-exist on an account that also wants to run Business Insights and/or Zapier.

This is one we're investigating. I'll let you know what our plans are when I hear from the Product Team.
Feedback provided to me yesterday for the ticket I raised was:
"I have been advised that the Director of Product Management is currently reviewing making Business Insights and API Keys work simultaneously. Unfortunately, an ETA on this is currently unavailable."

I don't have a time frame, but it is actively and intensely being worked on. The goal is to get it out ASAP. I'll let you know when I hear about an ETA.
The new version of Business Insights (1.0.11.37) allows for API Key to be used instead of a password. This version will be officially released on Friday.
You'll need to click the Use API Key option:
That will open up a new field for you to enter the API Key:
You'll still need to enter your email address, but the authentication will now be based on the API Key, not your password.
As per other feedback I have provided this is a less than ideal solution.
For this to work we have to hand out API keys to individual excel users.
Absence of GoCanvas solution for how you expect customers to manage this is frustrating.
as directed by Sara have raised anther feature request for this same issue. This time specified to avoid this sort if fix.
