Field Condition - Condition Value, to be selected via drop-down

The 'Condition Value' under 'Field Condition' should be set via drop-down when editing apps.

At current, the editor asks for a string of text. We can either enter this manually, or copy/paste it from the upstream reference field. Copy/paste is ok but, depending on the complexity of the app being designed, this could involve bouncing between screens and fields. Typing with free text results in potential input error, and therefore the logic not being applied appropriately when actually using the final app.

I propose this function should work exactly as the 'Condition Screen' and ' Condition Field' drop-down selection.

  • I LOVE this suggestion! Definitely a way to reduce potential for error. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Maybe the condition value could be set by drop-down for these field types?

    • Drop Down
    • Multi Choice
    • Checkbox

And then set by still being able to specify a value for the remaining field types?

When the condition field doesn't have a set number of predefined choices, we would still need to be able to specify the value(s) that we're looking for.

  • Any update? This would be super helpful. If you build multiple fields with a conditional logic based upon the answer in one drop down field, if you then change the answer in the drop down, the logic condition is broken for all the other fields.

This auto-populating would save a lot of time.

I just had a scenario where I had a typo in my dropdown field.. whoopsy! It required me to go back and find all the other fields referencing that answer.  Depending on the complexity of the app, this can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

  • Hi Keith,

I don't have any updates on this request but I have heard others interested in this request recently as well. I will update the proper teams with the continued interest in this request.
