I want to add text in my App that prompts the user to input data, but I do not want the text in the prompt to show in the submission. Is this possible?

Yes! This is definitely possible.
If you're using the PDF Designer, it's as simple as omitting/deleting that text field from the PDF design. If you don't include a field in the design, it won't show up in the submission.
If you're using the Standard PDF, open the app in the app builder, and click on the text field. Under the "More" menu located beneath field options, you should see a drop down option that allows you to set "PDF Visible" to "never".
Yes, Chip is spot on. Sounds like you are fairly new to this Chase.
