Conditional Page Breaks in PDF Designer

I would like to see an option to make the page breaks in PDF Designer conditional. I have several sets of fields that do not display on the PDF when that section of the form is not filled in. Since I have a separate page dedicated to these fields in PDF designer, I end up with a blank page. A conditional page break would allow the page brake to appear or not, with the same conditions as the data fields, preventing a blank PDF page if no data was present to display.

  • That would be a good feature.

We had a similar need on an app.  If you can live with the fields being on different screens, you might be able to use the screen settings > PDF visible option to show that whole screen or not based on if it has data present or not.

That's not exactly what you're looking for, but does offer a way to conditionally show or hide a screen worth of data based on present or absent values.

  • Conditional formatting on the PDF designer would be an awesome added feature and would save us all a lot of frustration and guess work.

  • AGREED!!

  • Agreed here as well. To be able to show / not show static text on the PDF based on that field's conditions alone would be a lifesaver.

  • Howdy All,

Thank you for sharing this feedback and use case examples! We do not have an estimated timeline for conditional formatting for Elements in the PDF Designer. However, our Product Team is in the initial stages of planning for a significant revamp to the PDF Designer. I will be sure to provide the comments from this Feature Request directly to the Product Managers.

  • Has this been addresses? Its been a few years....

Would also be useful to have functionality to fit report on one page, shrinking it down to fit, like in MS office print setup. Is this possible?

  • Hi John,

Thanks so much for your continued interest in this feature! At this time there are no updates on this feature. I will pass this along to our team for feedback. I also love the idea of being able to shrink it down! Depending on your type of form the size of the font could be helpful in creating more space for your fields. However, many forms end up a little too large for this to work in getting them on one page.

I'll also encourage any newcomers to upvote this post if you think it will be beneficial! Upvotes help our team prioritize items for the roadmap.
