In the first photo with a field type of 'Short Text' I can set a system default, in this case I have chosen User Name because it the user's email address. I'd like an email to go to the user if they have selected 'yes' in the previous field with the email field being conditional. I don't have that option if I use 'Short Text' without a style.
If I select the 'Email' style in 'Short Text' then I no longer have the option for system defaults.
What the easiest way to set up a 'Do you want a copy of this sent to your email?' with a yes/no answer to auto generate the email to the user without having to select the option before submitting the app, or is there one?

Hi Chad,
I think this is a good use for our Mirror backdoor (which, as opposed to the Mirror field, allows you to Mirror to a different field type). So you'd have the short text field pulling in the username, and then another short text field with the email style with the exact same field name on a subsequent screen (still has to be on a different screen). In that second field, under More in the Receipt Label field, type MIRROR. That will pull in the previous value as an email styled short text field.
It's a little silly but it works.
In the second field with the Receipt Label as MIRROR, you said that it has to be on a different screen. Does the different screen have to be after where I'm wanting the mirrored information to come from?
Yep, the second field has to be after the field it's mirroring.
I have everything set just like you said, the email address in the first field pulls in from the System Default correctly, and then mirrors into the second field correctly. The second field is set as an email style and the check box to email to that address is checked. Everything works correctly in the app and in the PDF, but still not getting an email to the one listed in the email style field.
Am I doing something wrong?
Hmmmm. Let's try to find out! I'm wondering if it maybe got sent but not delivered. Can you go into the submissions for that app and check the email status of one that should have sent? You can do that by clicking on the little envelope at the end of the row:
That will give you the list of everyone that email was sent to. If the email you're trying to send to isn't on that list, we can take a look at the app itself. If it IS on the list, let me know what the status says (it'll normally says something like Delivered or Bounced or Deferred):
Let me know what you find and we'll figure out what needs fixing.
The only email address showing in there is the one I have set for the submissions to go to in the App Email Options. The alternate email address I entered in the app doesn't show in the list of emails that went out.
Hey Chad, I'm going to convert this to a ticket just so we can get into specifics a bit, so look out for that. I'll update here with what we discover.
