Make a web edit do calculations based on the settings in the associated app

Right now if a web edit has to take place, any math present in the associated app does not take place automatically and the person performing the web edit has to do any associated calculations manually and then manually type the needed values into the web edit form.  It would be fantastic if a web edit would allow the use of reference data, calculations, etc just the like associated app does.  Maybe allow the user to override the calculated value by checking a box and answering "yes" to an "are you sure" prompt - but do the calculation automatically by default.

This would make web editing much more useful.

  • Is this being worked on at all????   Seems like a simple fix!  I dread when I have to go in and edit values on the web (Because it was done on an old version and can't be edited on mobile app, which is another separate annoying issue) because I have to make sure I change all fields that the value I changed effects!   This can create unnecessary errors.  Please tell me this is coming in the near future.  Its enough to make me want to change to another company.

  • Speaking honestly, we do not have a timeline on the functionality for web edits to automatically update Calculation fields. As I understand from our Product Team, the original intent was to provide Admins with the ability to manually edit individual Calculation fields as needed.

We appreciate you sharing the frustrations and challenges that this functionality would solve. I have directly provided this feedback to our Product Managers, making sure to emphasize the impact that improved web edit features would have.

  • Maybe this could be coupled with or superseded by the web client for apps if or when that ever comes to fruition?

  • Hey Nathan,

I love taking a tour of all your feature requests over the years, you have made some amazing suggestions and we are so appreciative! At the moment, I don't know of any plans to improve web edit functionality but I have bumped this request again for our product team to consider.
