Is there a way to see on the pdf if a submission has been updated, and what version it's on?

Answered

Say I have a submission and then I go in and update something in that submission later. Is there a way to add something to the PDF or the email with the PDF that can show that it's the second (or third, etc) version of the submission?

    Hi!

While you can view revision history of a submission on the GoCanvas website, there isn't a built in feature for this when it comes to the PDF/email that is sent (aside from noting the date/time it is sent).

However, you could consider adding a field to your app where the user could note what iteration of the submission they are on (maybe a drop down listing revision 0, revision 1, revision 2...etc) and then use that field to append the name of the submission/file name.  The only drawback here is user error - you'd have to trust your end users to select the right one. But, since the answer within the drop down is saved, they'd only need to select the next sequential option when editing the submission.

    I hope this helps!
