I have an App that I've retired and am no longer using. So I wanted to delete the Reference Data file I was using in that App. I am getting an error message: Reference data 'Cupcakes' is still in use by the following apps: Dessert Database.
If the App is retired, why can't I delete the Reference Data?

Hi Sara,
If you un-retire the app and remove the reference data from the build, you should be able to delete the file. The reason that you can't remove the reference data from a retired app, is that the system knows that you can un-retire an app and use it again if you choose to do so.
You can view the app by going to the Apps page, filtering for retired apps, and then using the "quick links" button (it looks like three dots) to "un-retire" the app, then launch it in the app builder and remove data from each field, save, and publish. Then you'll be able to delete the reference data, and retire the app again.
Please let me know if you have further questions, we're happy to help!
