    From Rick Daber:

I will second the request for Auto Increment Number field for each record in a Loop.

We urgently need this in order to make effective use of a Work Order app.

Agreed.  We currently work around this by adding one or more field(s) that can be used to differentiate otherwise identical loop entries - but it is a manual process... this would also afford us the ability to tell the order in which the entries were made.

    From Mike Goodman:

We solved the incremental numbers in loops issue, at least partially.  I added a list of numbers as reference data then made the number the list item and set it up so the list cannot have duplicate entries.  Each item on the list defaults to the next number on the list.  Then on the details screen you fill out the actual list item.  Yes, someone could select the numbers out of order or skip them but so far out users have not.  Hopefully this helps.

    Hi,

Has there been a fix for this yet? The reference data option is not a solve for us. I can add numbers to each item as reference data but the techs don't always inspect items in order and as a result, the list is numbered out of order on the PDF report.

    i.e.

    1. inspected this item first

    5. inspected this item second but it's showing as fifth

    9. inspected this item third but it's number nine on the reference data file

    Thanks!

    Howdy Karise,

Thank you for taking the time to check in on this Feature Request and share details on your use case! We do not have a timeline for this functionality, but I have shared your feedback directly with our Product managers for their consideration.

Thanks Chip. Do you know of any other work arounds in the app other than the reference data route?
