Revision control

Revision control has been an issue for us. When editing on mobile, there is the option to reset the date under "Edit & View:" Is there any way to get a date/timestamp for that information added to the PDF builder output that would differentiate between the original PDF and the edited version?

    Hi Keith McQuait,

Thanks for posting to the Community! That is a great question that I unfortunately don't have a simple solution for. Although there isn't a specific setting, perhaps using conditions would be a workaround. I'm imagining that when a user makes a change to the form, there might be a checkbox or other choice field the users marks when changes are made that triggers a date and/or time field to appear on the PDF. Although it's not an exact solution to what you are describing, it at least captures that data on the PDF itself.

I think this is a great idea that Product would love to hear so I will pass it along but we’d really appreciate it if you would submit this as a feature request to beta@gocanvas.com as our Product team highly values feedback directly from our customers!

  • When editing a previously submitted form, all the 'mandatory fields' were already satisfied in the previous version. Current time fields etc keep the same data as the first submission. So there's is really no way to force a new mandatory field entry. I will submit to the development team. Thanks for your time.

  • Hi @...,

Fair enough, I think I am understanding the issue better. Perhaps Follow-Ups might be another workaround for documenting changes to a form, but again would not be quite what you are looking for. Thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback!
