Improve legibility of fields placed in submission email body

Being able to place fields into the email body is great and saves our users opening PDFs to determine if they need to act on a notification. However, they have flagged some legibility / usability / accessibility issues:

1. When you have more than a handful of fields in the email body, it's difficult to quickly scan across them to pick out key information. Maybe the field labels could be formatted with a bold highlight and white space between fields increased? Perhaps the list of fields could be zebra-striped with different background colours?

2. We use a lot of conditional fields, so there's a lot of noise in the emails where we have field labels but no values. Could conditional fields that are hidden in the mobile app be excluded from the email body? How about having the option to exclude empty fields from the email output (same as options for PDF output)?

Many thanks,

Rob

    Hi Rob Worley,

Thank you for posting to the Community! These are some really great observations and I can see how this could be confusing to those who rely on the emails for quick context on what was captured in a submission. Although I cannot promise this will be in a future product release, I can pass it along to Product for their consideration. If you have a spare moment, we’d really appreciate it if you would submit this as a feature request to beta@gocanvas.com as our Product team highly values feedback directly from our customers!

  • Thanks Lauren Sunday. I've emailed the product team as suggested.
