Loop Screen Dropdown Specific Sums

I was wondering if there was a way to calculate specific totals based on a dropdown on a loop screen? For example, I have a Labor Log loop table where the user selects a Labor Type and then enters the number of hours worked for that Labor Type by that employee. The result is a loop table that lists the totals for different labor types. I am wondering if there is a way to sum only certain Labor Totals from the table based on what the user selected from the dropdown. For instance, if I have three lines of Transportation Labor Type and three lines of Pull Labor, I want to know the total for just the Transportation Labor and the total for just the Pull Labor.

    Hi Ellen Middleton,

Thanks for posting to the Community! What you are describing simply requires separate numeric fields for each labor type. You could add separate conditional number fields that trigger based on the selection from the dropdown. The resulting Table might seem empty on a PDF output but that can easily be remedied with some creative reorganization of the columns. As long as the numeric fields are separate, they can be individually summarized using Sum Calculation Type fields on a later screen. More can be found about the Sum Calculation field in the article, "Summarizing Values from a Repeating Screen Type."

I hope this helps but please let me know if you require any additional assistance!
