Thank you for your post! I believe something similar was posted recently but I cannot find that post anymore but I believe in the past I have changed the name of a submission that uses "Place Value In" a field value by changing the field value in the submission. The caveat is that the submission was still active and had not gone through the final submission stage to send it to the GoCanvas servers. I have never tested this theory with this implicit goal so it would probably need testing to see if this was the outcome I remember.
Also, when a submission is Unassigned or Reassigned to another user on mobile, the user saving the submission names it at that time. Perhaps the admin can dispatch submissions to themselves to name before assigning to someone specific or un-assigning it to be claimed by their employees.
These are of course stopgap solutions and not the preferred method, the best case scenario is our development team adding this functionality to the product. I will definitely pass this along as I'm sure there are many users who would benefit from this functionality.
