We use Microsoft Surface Pro for our field personnel. Outside the Canvas App the camera rotates from Portrait to Landscape. Inside the Canvas App the camera does not rotate. This is not the case on the IPhone or Android. Requesting this become an option

Thanks for checking on this feature request! Microsoft Surface Pro runs on our Windows Desktop Client, which is typically calibrated with the needs of a stationary laptop and rotating the camera is not a common use case.
Although we have passed this request along, I do not have any major updates to the Windows Desktop Client in the roadmap to report. Please subscribed to our Release Notes Community topic to stay up to date on all updates to our platform and device offerings.

Lauren, thanks for your reply. I noticed that the camera option is not showing up on my surface pro and only the gallery is. Any thoughts on that? This camera option does show up on my ipad. Thanks.

I believe that is also related to the Windows Desktop Client being calibrated for a desktop computer or laptop as opposed to a device with a camera. If this option is available on your iPad for the same field and the same form, it would be unrelated to the setting that dictates the Image Source from within the Builder and is most certainly related to the limitations of the operating system this software is primarily optimized for.
