It would be very time efficient to have the submission status be updated by the information entered into the app as opposed to manually changing the status post submission. Our volume makes it impractical to go through and change each item post submission and as the submissions are edited as the vehicle is completed it would be difficult to try to keep up with the change in status. To add to the issue, if we experience a part shortage there is a chance of hundreds of trucks changing status in a day's time when the part arrives. This feature being triggered by the app would add value to our operation for traceability, but without it being automated we realistically can't use it.

I can understand why this would be frustrating! Manually changing the status when the volume is potentially hundreds of statuses changing would reduce efficiency far too much. When a submission is updated with the new information, is the user making changes on their mobile or are these changes done through the portal by an admin or reporter?
I have used Place Value in Submission Name in the past for issues similar to the one you are having. If you were to place value in a field that lists all the statuses, every time that field is edited on mobile, the name of the submission will also update to reflect that change. However, the name of the submission will only change if the field is changed on mobile. Would this be feasible in your process?
