The ability to create a new Dispatch from within the Dispatch Calendar makes it easy to see and schedule work in the field.
Step 1: Create the Dispatch
Click on an open slot on the calendar and then push the "Create New Dispatch" button in the pop-up.
Step 2: Select a Form
Choose which form you want to Dispatch to one of your users.
If the form you want does not appear it means you have not enabled Dispatch for that particular form. Return to the Form tab, click on the form you want, and scroll down to the Dispatch icon.
Step 3: Fill out the Dispatch details
The Dispatch Name and Item Description will help your mobile user know what this job is. Typically for Dispatch Name and Item Description it is useful to put YOUR customer's name in those fields. For example, "Hyatt Regency installation" or "Jones Residence."
You do NOT have to assign the Dispatch to anyone. You can leave it unassigned and assign it later if you wish.
- Dispatch Type - You can change the type to "Immediate" if you decide you want to send this out right away.
- Calendar Invite - This will send an email to your mobile user (It uses the email address associated with their GoCanvas account) with an .ICS file attached. That allows them to add this dispatch as an event on their own calendar.
Step 5: Fill out your Form fields
The rest of the fields you see are the fields that exist in the form, so hopefully it looks familiar. Note: You must fill out at least one field that is specific to your form.
Step 6: Save
When you are done filling out the fields you need to dispatch, hit "Save."
The dispatch will then appear on the calendar where you can edit it, assign or reassign it, or delete it!
If you choose NOT to assign it to anyone then it will appear with NO COLOR on the calendar. If you do assign it then it will initially appear with stripes across it to indicated that your mobile user has NOT downloaded it to his/her device yet.
