With GoCanvas, you can create mobile forms that allow your users to collect payments for your company while in the field. This topic shares instructions for capturing a credit card with or without a Square card reader, and instructions on how to record cash transactions.

Note: Payment fields currently function with Square, which is available in the U.S. only.

Using a Payment field with a card reader or credit card

If you want information on how to set up a form with Square, click here. If you want more information on the supported devices used to capture credit cards with Square, click here.

If you have not set up your form with a Payment field yet, take a moment to add one to your form in the Form Builder.

Important: After you add the field to your form, make sure it's pointing to the correct field to reflect the total you want to capture. It's easy to accidentally let this point to a subtotal field or tax field, so make sure you double check these settings by clicking on the Payment field:

If you already have a Payment field set up, follow the steps below to use it with a credit card, either using a card reader or by manually punching in the card number.

  1. Open your Form on your mobile device.
  2. Make sure you put a value into a Total field that is between $1.00 and $10,000.00.
  3. When you arrive at the Payment field, tap Capture Payment
