The Payment field allow your users to collect payments while in the field using Square.
Please Note
Square is only available in the United States.
Using a Payment Field with a Credit Card
If you have not set up your form with a Payment field yet, take a moment to add one to your form in the Form Builder.
Please Note
After you add the field to your form, make sure that the field is configured to reflect the correct total cost field as you don't want to accidentally charge the wrong amount.
Once the form with the payment field is published, credit card payments can be completed either with a card reader or by manually entering the card number.
- Open the GoCanvas application and select the form to start a new submission.
- The "Total" field that the payment field references can have a value between $1.00 and $10,000.00.
- Tap the Payment field to start the payment process, which will say Capture Payment.
- The total payment amount is displayed and tap Continue to proceed.
- Either swipe the credit card or tap Manual Card Entry to input the number by hand.
- After swiping the card, Square will prompt you to receive a signature and tap Done Signing. You will then see a confirmation screen that confirms the transaction is complete.
Using a Payment Field with Cash
If a customer wishes to pay in cash, you can still note that payment was collected using the Payment field.
- Follow steps 1-3 above.
- Select Cash from the payment type options.
- Enter the amount of cash collected and tap Tender. The next screen will tell you the amount of change to give back.
- The payment field will now say Payment Captured and if you tap this field again, a pop-up will display Payment Information.
