Yes, GoCanvas offers barcode scanning for Android and iOS devices.

GoCanvas will receive data from any barcode scanner that has a supporting "scan wedge" application that is compatible with a GoCanvas-supported operating system.

For Android:

The application now natively works with the types of scanners supported by Zebra Crossing, including:

  • Aztec
  • Codabar
  • Code 128
  • Code 39
  • Code 93
  • Datamatrix
  • EAN-13
  • EAN-8
  • PDF417
  • QR
  • UPC-A
  • UPC-E
  • ITF
  • RSS-14
  • RSS-Expanded

There are also several free applications in the Google Play Store that are compatible with GoCanvas, many of which utilize Zebra Crossing software:

When you click to scan a barcode in your GoCanvas form, you will have the option to open the third-party scanner.

For iOS (iPad/iPhone):

You can scan the following types of barcodes in the main GoCanvas mobile application without additional setup:

  • Aztec
  • Code 128
  • Code 39
  • Code 93
  • Code 128
  • Datamatrix
  • EAN-13
  • EAN-8
  • ITF
  • ITF-14
  • PDF417
  • QR
  • UPC-E

We recommend testing your barcode scanner on the device you want to use in the field in advance, to ensure that the third-party application will accept the barcode type.
